8 Steps Music was born out of the strong philosophy held by founded, Jacob Walker, that every performer deserves to feel like the star of their show. 

What this means is that if an instructor, parent, fan, anyone goes up to a performer and asks them “Do YOU feel like your part has a big impact on the music?” and the answer should always be a resounding “YES!”

It is Jacob’s belief that every kid, from the All-State Level Flute player, down to the freshman trombone player, deserves have a part that makes them feel important to the success of the band, and also sets them up for a tremendous amount of growth.
